How to create a notification

Notifications are the on-site messages that appear on your hotel website or booking engine to encourage direct bookings. Here's how to create one from scratch.

Before you start

Make sure your offer or promo code is already live and bookable on your booking engine. Userguest displays the offer — it doesn't create it.

Step 1 — Open Notifications

In the left menu of your dashboard, click Notifications. You'll see your existing notifications listed by type: Promotions, Social Proofs, Smart, and Boosters.

Step 2 — Click “Add Notification”

Click the green Add Notification button in the top-right corner. This opens the creation form.

 

Step 3 — Fill in the basics

  • Name — an internal label only your team sees (e.g. Summer Offer 2025)
  • Targeted Hotels — select the property this applies to
  • Notification type — select Promotion
  • Status — leave as Enabled

Step 4 — Write your message

Fill in the Text section:

CTA URL Your booking engine link *https://yourhotel.com/book*

💡 The Preview panel on the right updates in real time — check both desktop and mobile before saving.

Step 5 — Set your dates and save

Scroll to Publication Dates → click + Add New Dates → set start and end date → click Save and Close.

⚠️ If you want the notification to run indefinitely, leave Publication Dates empty.
